The Word Search App at thewordsearchapp.com (the “Service”) is operated by RJS Tech Solutions LLP (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and how you can ask us to delete it. It applies to the public website. If you play our game inside Facebook, Facebook’s own terms and privacy policy also apply.
We are established in India. We handle personal data as a Data Fiduciary under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”), and related rules.
Guest play. You can play without creating an account. We keep an anonymous identifier and your progress (scores, coins, completed puzzles) so the game can continue on this device. Guest play is removed after a short period of inactivity.
Signed-in play. If you continue with Google or Facebook to save progress, we store your name, profile photo (if provided), email address (when the provider shares it), and a link to that Google or Facebook account. Signing in is optional.
Gameplay. We store puzzle completions, scores, XP, coins, hints, ad-free status, level unlocks, streaks, and invites so you can continue across sessions and devices.
On your device. Your browser may keep a copy of in-progress and finished puzzles so you can pick up where you left off. Signing out clears that copy on this device. It does not delete your account — use the deletion request below for that.
Payments. Optional coin packs and the ad-free upgrade are processed by Stripe. We are told whether a purchase succeeded and which product you bought, so we can credit coins or remove ads. We do not store your full card number.
Support and deletion requests. If you write to us or submit the deletion form, we keep the email you give us and the status of that request.
Approximate location. We may infer a coarse city or country to offer a local puzzle. We do not collect precise location, and we do not attach that place to your account.
Under the DPDP Act we rely on your consent where you sign in or submit a form, and on providing the Service you asked for (guest play, puzzle progress, purchases you start).
We keep you signed in on this device. Google Analytics, Google sign-in, and Facebook Login may also set cookies or use advertising identifiers. You can clear this site’s data in your browser; that signs you out on this device.
Google Analytics helps us understand visits and how people play (for example, that someone signed in or finished a puzzle). We do not send Google your email or name. Google’s privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
If you open a word definition from the game, you leave our site and that other site’s privacy policy applies.
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only to run the Service, comply with law, or prevent abuse.
We operate from India. Sign-in, analytics, and payments are provided by companies that may process data outside India. By using the Service you understand that your information may be transferred to those locations.
The Service is a general-audience word game. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to us and we will delete it. Parents or guardians in India may contact us to exercise rights on behalf of a child.
Under the DPDP Act you may ask us to access, correct, or erase personal data we hold about you, and to withdraw consent for optional processing (for example, unlinking Google or Facebook by signing out and requesting deletion). To exercise these rights, email support@thewordsearchapp.com or use the form on this page.
How deletion works. Enter the email on your Google or Facebook sign-in. We send a confirmation message to that address. After you click the link, we delete matching account data: name, photo, email, progress, scores, coins, hints, unlocks, and invites we stored. Guest play that was never signed in has no email on file — clear this site’s data in your browser, or write to us.
We cannot erase copies held only by Google, Facebook, Stripe, or your browser. You can disconnect those from each provider’s own settings. We also cannot erase published puzzles (themes and word lists are ours), or purchase records we are required to keep.
We take reasonable security safeguards to protect personal data. On a shared device, sign out when you are done.
We may update this policy when the Service or the law changes. The date at the bottom is the latest revision. Material changes will be posted on this page.
