- GHAT /ɡæt/ · noun
- A set of steps or landing place beside a river, especially one of the bathing places along the Ganges in India. In South Asian geographical usage, it can also mean a mountain pass or a difficult route through steep terrain. Related: steps, stairway, landing place, mountain pass.
- AARTI /ˈɑːrti/ · noun
- A Hindu devotional ceremony in which a lamp burning oil or ghee is waved or circled in front of a deity or sacred image, usually while devotional songs are sung.
