- RABBIT /ˈræbɪt/ · noun
- A small to medium-sized mammal with long ears and a fluffy tail, often kept as a pet or found in the wild. Rabbits are herbivores and are known for their fast breeding and hopping ability. Related: hare, bunny, lapine, cotton-tail.
- TOAD /tɒd/ · noun
- A small to medium-sized amphibian with a typically warty skin, often found in gardens and fields. Toads are closely related to frogs, but have a more rounded body and shorter legs. Related: frog, newt, salamander, amphibian.
- DRAGON /ˈdræɡən/ · noun
- A mythical monster resembling a giant reptile, typically winged, fire-breathing, and fearsome; in European tradition it is usually malevolent, while in East Asian traditions it is often a benevolent symbol of power and good fortune. Also used figuratively for a fierce, intimidating, or dangerous person. Related: wyvern, serpent, monster, behemoth.
- PHOENIX /fɪnɪks/ · noun
- A mythical bird said to be born from its own ashes, often used to represent rebirth or renewal. In modern usage, it can also refer to a person or thing that is revived or restored after a period of decline or difficulty. Related: mythical bird, rebirth, renewal, revival.
