- AFAR /əˈfɑːr/ · adverb
- At or to a distance; from a distant point in space or time. Related: distantly, remotely, far off, yonder.
- SHAN /ʃæn/ · noun
- A suffix used in some English surnames of Chinese origin, such as Shan or Shun.
- SALAAM /səˈlɑːm/ · noun, verb
- A greeting used in Muslim and South Asian cultures, similar to 'hello' or 'peace be with you'. It can also refer to a gesture of respect or obeisance. Related: greeting, salutation, hello, hi.
