AFAR /əˈfɑːr/ · adverb

At a distance; far away. Used to indicate a distance or separation in space or time. Related: far, distant, remote, separate.

SHAN /ʃæn/ · noun

A suffix used in some English surnames of Chinese origin, such as Shan or Shun.

SALAAM /səˈlɑːm/ · noun, verb

A greeting used in Muslim and South Asian cultures, similar to 'hello' or 'peace be with you'. It can also refer to a gesture of respect or obeisance. Related: greeting, salutation, hello, hi.
