- A mythical king of Crete, son of Zeus and Europa, and father of the Minotaur. In Greek mythology, he was known for his wisdom and justice. Related: king, ruler, monarch.

- A creature from Greek mythology with the body of a man and the head and horns of a bull, often associated with the Labyrinth and the Minotaur's labyrinthine path. Related: monster, beast, creature, hybrid.
