- A great circle passing through the Earth's poles and used to specify longitude, or the highest point or culmination of something. In astronomy, a meridian is a great circle passing through the poles and the observer's zenith. Related: culmination, zenith, peak, high point.
- HAWKS British /hɔːks/; US /hɑːks/ · noun (plural); verb (third-person singular present)
- Hawks are birds of prey, especially those with broad wings and hooked bills, that hunt other animals. The word also refers to people who advocate aggressive military or political action, while the verb hawks means to sell or offer something aggressively.
