A new year by the moon
Lunar New Year begins on a new moon between late January and mid-February and runs for fifteen days, ending with the Lantern Festival. It's the biggest celebration of the year in China, and it's also Seollal in Korea and Tết in Vietnam. Families travel huge distances to be together, sweep out bad luck before the day, and welcome the new animal of the twelve-year ZODIAC.
